The Stress of Leisure – 4Senses Benefit Gig for Deaf Australia
Saturday February 9 we’re playing the 4Senses Benefit (Deaf Australia) at the Bridge Club alongside local favourites Giants of Science, Drawn From Bees and Royal Artillery. The night will be unlike most gigs you attend – there will be an Auslan interpreter (Maree) signing all our lyrics on stage, there will be sensory subwoofer boxes people can sit on to feel the vibration, and there will apparently be a visual feast of lights. The Bridge Club is located within the Irish Club in the CBD.
2013 has seen us adding to our squad, our ‘Stress’ team. Ben and Jessica Moore became proud parents on New Years Day (Edwyn Moore – cool name eh?), so they will be very busy for the time being. We’ve recruited Phil Usher on the drums and Jane Elliott on bass. Phil played percussion on Cassowary, in particular the awesome congas in ‘Hot Fire!’. He also fronts the ever increasingly psychedelic Grand Atlantic. Jane plays in The Bell Divers and has played with The Gin Club and Ed Kuepper in the past. They’ve both got a pretty good level of match fitness and well, we also like em as people. That IS the truth.
