Issue #2 of ‘Today, the voice you speak with may not be your own’
The second issue of the zine Today, the voice you speak with may not be your own is available and this issue is The Architecture Issue.
The zine consists of the words, images and concepts of others. Expect found poetry, collage, Oulipo-based poetry plus contributions from other artists and poets. Even the title must be attributed to DJ Spooky that Subliminal Kid.
Please meet our contributors for this issue:
- Poet Matt Hetherington says his ‘art is born from extreme humility and the recognition that i am a god’ and if you bid quickly, his collection Surface is currently up on ebay. Matt’s performance is always captivating and he will next be featuring at Speedpoets on April 26th.
- Poet Tessa Rose. Here is her fantastic piece called How to make it in: Ainslie as part of the Letters to a Suburb project. She will be performing at Ruckus Slam at The Hideaway on April 23rd.
- Poet Nathan Shepherdson. His upcoming book the day the artists stood still (vol. 2) will be published this year.
- And UK artist and filmmaker Renee Vaughan Sutherland. Visit her website here. And here is a still from her recent performance at House 3:
The first issue of the zine came with a bonus beard extract courtesy of doting thomarse, and in keeping with the spirit of generosity, each of the 50 limited editions of Issue #2 includes a bonus Finnish architecture playing card. It’s on the house, ho ho.
Now, the design of the zine is quite complex, so here is a handy video demonstration on how to read it:
